After working on Sinking Ship the entire summer of 1999, I was ready to approach the editors of The Slate (Shippensburg University's weekly newspaper) about publishing the strip. At first it seemed they really liked it. But the semester would find me constantly fighting for space, under the constant threat of being bumped in favor of more advertising. However, I did make it into six out of ten issues, so all in all, not a bad start.
